On this page you will find the links to several online classes. Some are required by all emergency responders, some are required of EMS providers only, and others are optional.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens - required of all ambulance personnel, yearly. You can take this class face-to-face, or go online to the following link. It's free. Register, take the course and print your certificate at:
  • NIMS (National Incident Management System) - required once of all ambulance personnel. This is the link to the Emergency Training Institute independent study page. There are several links on this page for classes you need. NIMS is ICS 700.
  • Incident Command System (ICS 100 or 200) - required once of all ambulance personnel. This is the link to the Emergency Training Institute independent study page. There are several links on this page for classes you need. Look for ICS 100 or 200.
  • HazMat Awareness - All responders need to have this class at least once - it is suggested that you repeat it occasionally.
  • Other classes, not available online, all EMS personnel are required to have are:
     START and JumpStart (Simple Triage & Rapid Treatment, Adult/Pediatric - at least once
     Mandatory Reporting for Dependent Adult and Child Abuse - every 5 years
     Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course - Every 3 years (Lenox policy)
     HIPAA Training - Yearly (Federal Law)
